This book is a collection of memories, focusing on the loss of childhood and the nostalgia of youth. I wanted to create a bittersweet book that shows the joyful memories of when I was younger, contrasting them with quotes about growing older.
I tried to use not only my memories, but imagery that people in my age range could relate in order to make the book engaging. It leans into a scrapbook feeling and is vibrant and childlike inside, but utilizes a cleaner, less playful cover and binding to balance it out. The "blank scrapbook" cover not only hints at what is in the pages, but has the texture of the scrapbook to emulate the layouts inside of the book.
